Is Inter Miami’s controversial Club World Cup qualification a proof that Messi is FIFA’s Darling boy?

The 2025 Club World Cup is expected to kickoff in the United States of America come June 15.

Next year’s edition will feature 32 team’s as FIFA intends to make it a much larger tournament compared to the previous ones.

There have been debates about the new format and FIFA’s decision to include American Soccer side, Inter Miami among the team’s that have qualified for the tournament.

FIFA just days ago confirmed speculations that Inter Miami is one of the participating teams at the upcoming 2025 Club World Cup, leading to reactions from football lovers all over the world.

When the initial announcement was made on how team’s could qualify for the tournament, it is well known that The MLS champions were expected to represent USA as host nations.

Now The main issue is that the playoffs haven’t even started, the recent league games played is for teams to secure qualification to the play off stage.

9 team’s from both conference will play out play off games and the winner can now be declared as champions of the MLS season.

It is important to note that Inter Miami only placed 1st position in their conference thereby securing qualification for the playoffs and that does not mean they are the MLS champions.

However, FIFA decided to declare Inter Miami as USA representative at the Club World which is against initial rule of qualification to the tournament.

It is no secret that Inter Miami’s participation comes down to Messi’s presence in the team and that has so far raised concerns about previous arguments that, Messi is being given some big support from FIFA throughout his career.
