Drake made a Mistake coming for his Kenrick Lamar’s family – Dr Dre speaks on rappers’ beef

Renowned music producer and record label executive, Dr. Dre has publicly addressed Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ for the first time he revealed why he chose to align himself with Lamar over Drake.

Last year, amidst the intense rivalry between Drake and Kendrick, the latter dealt his final blow with the chart-topping ‘Not Like Us’ which has since received multiple Grammy nominations, including Record of The Year and Song of The Year.

In June of the previous year, Kendrick hosted a one-night-only concert, ‘The Pop Out,’ in Los Angeles featuring a plethora of special guests.

During the show, he performed nearly every song he had released throughout his feud with Drake.

Dr. Dre has also been a notable mentor figure to Kendrick, bringing the ‘HUMBLE.’ rapper to Aftermath and Interscope in 2011.

The legendary rapper-producer recently joined the inaugural episode of The Unusual Suspects with Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell where they discussed Kendrick’s ‘Pop Out’ concert.

However, this collaboration underscores the depth of their artistic connection.

During the conversation, Dre took the opportunity to share that although he doesn’t like getting involved in rap beefs, he felt the need to show his support for his protege.

This was particularly important, however, because Drake started taking shots at Kendrick’s family which made the situation more complicated.

Dre told Barris and Gladwell: “I love that record. I’ma say this on camera. I don’t want to get negative. My whole shit is about being positive and moving forward and all that shit, but the fact I heard Drake say something negative about Kendrick’s wife and his kids, that made me say, ‘Ah, adios!’”
