President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to ensure all truck drivers are proficient in Engish reading and writing.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the order will direct the Department of Transportation to include an English literacy test for truck drivers.

This order addresses the communication problem between truckers and authorities on the road while increasing public safety.
The executive order reinforces an already existing federal law requiring English-language proficiency as a requirement for commercial motor drivers.

That requirement already exists, but Trump said it “has not been enforced in years,” making roads less safe.
