My cousins celebrated my defeat after a match because I didn’t send them money – Zimbabwean UFC fighter, Themba Gorimbo opens up on struggles

UFC fighter, Themba Gorimbo from Zimbabwe has opened up on his struggles as a UFC fighter in the United States and his hopes of a successful career.

He shared a painful moment when his own cousins celebrated his loss because he didn’t send them money.

According to him, his relatives in Zimbabwe jubilated his defeat after a match all because he did not fulfil their request of sending them money from abroad.

Themba hinted that he is still trying to survive out there, yet his family does not see what he is going through now.

“I’m not a millionaire—maybe I will be one day. After one of my losses, a cousin messaged me. He sent a video of some of my family celebrating my defeat in the same place we struggled together 15 years ago.”
