Company sacks employees who honestly answered “yes” after asking them if the work is stressful

A company has sacked a number of their employees after the latter shared their honest emotions about the company.

This comes after the company conducted a survey to understand the feelings about stress at work from their employees.

According to the Human Resource Manager, Ashu Arora Jha, this exercise forms part of the effort to foster a healthy and supportive work environment.

In a letter to one of the staff of the company who was laid off, they had to consider the feedback after some of the workers admitted the work was significantly stressful and thought it right to part ways with them.

Apparently, the company conducted the survey to test the commitment level of workers and some failed the test.

Reacting to this, some internet users pointed out that many people die in silence not because they don’t want to talk about it but the consequences or outcome of their disclosure.

@queenyquest wrote; ‘This is why I advocate for professionals to appropriately brand themselves and publicize their every achievements.

When you brand yourself, it gives you a competitive edge, your salary isn’t a favour it is a right based on the job you did and if you work with a bad organization, they are careful around you cause they know competitors are one step away from poaching you from then.

I brand a lot of professionals and it is a thing if sadness to see people endure bad jobs because they really do not have alternatives because they lack personal brand positioning. A word is enough for the wise.’

@mumysuzip wrote; ‘I believe firing employees who expressed stress after a stress survey raises serious ethical and legal concerns. In many places, this could be seen as retaliation, which is not only unfair but also illegal.

HR’s role is to support employee well-being and create a healthy work environment, not penalize those who speak up about their concerns. Instead of firing employees, the HR manager should focus on addressing the causes of stress, whether that’s workload, communication issues, or other factors.

Providing resources like stress management programs or counseling would be a more constructive approach, fostering an open and supportive work culture.’
