I CANNOT LOWER MY STANDARD!
I ask, what is your standard?
When most people speak of standards, check closely, they speak only in terms of monetary terms.
“I cannot date a man/woman who doesn’t drive a car”
“I cannot marry a man who doesn’t live in his own apartment “
“I cannot go out with a man/woman who doesn’t dress with designers clothes,shoes…..
“I cannot date someone who doesn’t earn so and so figures”
“I can not date someone who does not have a degree”
Some go a as far as saying they cannot be with someone that uses android phone except iphones.
If all the standards you’ve set for yourself is influenced only with money and not morals, spiritual, intellectual,emotional, mental….you really don’t have much of a standard.
The problem is, when you meet someone who meets up with your standard financially, that person automatically becomes suitable for you irrespective of how broken he/she maybe, broken emotionally, broken psychologically e.t.c
How about setting a standard emotionally for yourself, a man/woman has to match up to the emotional standards, they have to treat you with as much respect emotionally .
How about setting a moral standard, if he/she doesn’t have as much moral uprightness, such a person doesn’t have the nods over you.
How about setting a spiritual standard, if he/she doesn’t fill you up spiritually, if they cannot appeal to your spiritual cravings, if the relationship doesn’t add to your life spiritually, then you start questioning the genuineness of the relationship.
I have set a standard far above financial obligations, you’ll have to bring more than money to have a chance.
