Hollywood actor Djimon Hounsou has talked candidly about his financial difficulties despite two Oscar nominations and a two-decade career in the film industry.
During a recent interview with CNN, the actor discussed his noteworthy accomplishments and disclosed that in spite of his success, he frequently receives inadequate compensation for his services rendered as an actor in Hollywood.
“With two Oscar nominations and over two decades making films, I’m still struggling financially to make a living”, He stated.
In his reflection on the development of African representation in Hollywood, he pointed out that systemic racism still needs to be addressed by the industry.

Djimon Hounsou also opened up on how despite coming from a lowly background he was passed over for an Oscar.
“I was nominated for a golden bronze and got ignored by the Oscars, talking about the fact that they thought I had just come off the boats” he noted.
