The incident occurred around 7:00 AM GMT on a bus on route 219, Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester Piccadilly via Manchester Way, and was captured in a viral TikTok video.

The man claimed he filmed her “because he is English,” which led to a heated exchange between them. Other passengers supported the woman by questioning the man’s actions.

The bus driver intervened, insisting that the man delete the footage before allowing the bus to continue its journey.

This incident has brought attention to privacy laws in the UK, particularly since the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 makes it a criminal offense to record breastfeeding without consent for purposes such as sexual gratification or to cause distress.
