Africa is noted to have different kind of mineral resources across almost all parts of the continent.
While some few countries take advantage of the mineral resources to drive development towards their economy, many other countries are just about exporting them abroad.
Currently, Africa is a major global supplier of mineral resources, holding about 30% of the world’s mineral reserves.
These minerals are vital for industries like renewable energy, electronics, and manufacturing, with cobalt, lithium, and copper being key for electric vehicle batteries and green technologies.
Interestingly, despite the availability of these mineral resources, African countries do not manufacture things like the west does.
The continent is known for exporting the minerals and then by the end products from the same Europeans they sold the minerals to.
This is something the Namibia president is against and sending caution to other leaders in the continent to put a stop to it.
“We cannot continue as a continent and countries to export our resources to be processed in other countries which means we are importing jobs of our young people to others.” She said
