Donald Trump’s unsuccessful attempt to kiss his wife Melania during his inauguration has left viewers in wonder.
Celebrities, former presidents, cabinet nominees and others gathered in Washington for the inauguration of the US president, Donald Trump, today January 20.

Trump’s wife and family were present of course and they greeted him as he entered the Capitol Rotunda.
Additionally, as he got closer he leaned in to kiss Melania’s cheek but he was unsuccessful.

It’s possible that the two were just sharing a stylish air kiss.
Rather it appeared that Melania’s hat merely protected her from her husband’s mouth.

Trump then shook outgoing President Joe Bidens hand but the perplexing kiss attempt got all of the attention of the audience.
The incident as witnessed by patrons at the event as well as viewers at home have elicited mixed and hilarious reactions, however, many are still wondering what may be going on between the two.

“Was that a fake kiss?” one wrote on X, as others who had already been confused by the new first lady’s wide-rimmed black hat wrote: “Oh, now it makes sense. Melania wore the hat as a barrier to Trump’s lips. Got it.”

Another simply shared the clip and wrote: “CAN’T THIS IS TOO FUNNY.”
Many agreed she’s ‘so mother’ as they reckon the ‘hat was intentional’.
