Actor Patrick Doyle has spoken out against Nigerian men who propose to their girlfriends in public, labelling this behaviour as foolish.
He argues that marriage proposals are deeply personal and should occur in private settings, not in front of crowds.
Doyle is particularly critical of the trend where men invest money in hiring cameramen and setting up elaborate events for public proposals, considering these efforts to be unnecessary and pointless.

Taking to his Facebook page, Patrick Doyle wrote;
‘’Asking a woman to marry you is perhaps the most intimate experience any 2 persons can be engaged in outside of actual copulation.
This new unwholesome trend of having an entourage on hand with video cameras live streaming the act is, in my view imbecilic.
The epidemic of narcissism and approval addiction consuming many makes me wonder if some people ever had any home training at all.”
