The Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced that all it’s staff will proceed on leave.

The announcement came in a letter dated 4th February 2025 with staff leave taking effect of Friday February 7.
The agency, which have provider aids to different countries across the world is on the verge of collapsing.
USAID told it’s staff in the leave announcement that they’ll be at home and recieve their salaries until further notice.

The staffs have also been tasked to be on standby as they could be contacted either by phone or email during working hours.
It all started when Trump’s administration, particularly Elon Musk called for the scrapping of the agency.

According to Elon Musk, the agency is dead and went on with further x posts claiming USAID have been pushing some laws in Europe.
“USAID has been pushing censorship laws in Europe” Elon Musk wrote in one of his X posts concerning USAID.
