US in talks to establish a drone base in Ivory Coast following General Michael Langley’s successful visit

The  Uniyed States is looking at establishing a drone base in Ivory Coast in and move that will strengthen it’s presence in Africa.

It was reported that the reason it has given is the increasing insecurity in the Sahel and responding to the geopolitical changes and dynamics.

While no final decision has been made on constructing a permanent base, advanced talks are ongoing with Ivorian authorities about expanding U.S. operations.

This will include the potential use of existing Ivorian military facilities for drone deployments.

Meanwhile the Ivory Coast gorvenment recently made known to citizens thhat they are closing down French basis in the country.

If that turns out to be true, it means they were making preprations for United States’ base in the country.
