A Ugandan minister has decided to invest an amount of 3 billion Ugandan shillings into building a new church for his personal.
It was reported that former Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa traveled to Germany for throat cancer treatment.

We all can agree that his treatment abroad is a privilege unavailable to most Ugandans due to the country’s underfunded health system.
After recovering, the said minister returned home and spent over 3 billion Ugandan shillings to build a church in his home district of Sembabule.
His main motivate for building the church was a thanking his God for healing him following a successful treatment abroad.
While the gesture was praised by some for its religious sentiment, it drew widespread criticism from Ugandans who saw it as a glaring example of misplaced priorities.

Rather than investing in a hospital or improving healthcare access for ordinary citizens, Kutesa chose a symbolic project that benefited few.
