Trump says he’s not “100% sure” he can’t run again for President

U. S. Donald Trump the president has stated that he is not 100 percent sure he will not be able to run for a third term.

“I’ve raised a lot of money for the next race, that I assume I can’t use for myself, but I’m not 100% sure,” Trump said Monday, January 27 at the House Republican Members Conference dinner in Doral, Florida.

He added a moment of lighthearted uncertainty, asking Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, “I’m not sure, am I allowed to run again, Mike? I better not get you involved in that.”

Trump has made reference to the prospect of running for office for three terms before.

In an appearance last Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada, he remarked, “It will be the greatest honour of my life to serve not once, but twice or three times,”

Discussions about changing the U. S. Constitution have been held with Andy Ogles of Tennessee about the constitution to give Trump the right to run for a third term.

However, since the Constitution hasn’t changed since the ratification of the 27th Amendment in 1992 amending it is a difficult undertaking.

A constitutional convention which hasnt been held since the 18th century or a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives and Senate are required to formally propose an amendment.

Republicans do not hold enough seats to accomplish either of these goals.

Moreover, a new amendment would require the approval of three-fourths of state legislatures or approximately 38 states in order to be ratified.
