Trump has announced a 25% tariff on all foreign-made automobiles that will take effect at midnight

President Donald Trump is still working on his goal and theme of “Making America Great Again.” In light of this, the president has introduced new trade tariffs in an already existing trade war.

President Donald Trump announced a sweeping 25% tariff on all foreign-made automobiles, effective immediately as of midnight on April 2, 2025.

The announcement was made during what Trump has termed as “Liberation Day” for the U.S. economy in the White House.

The president revealed that these measures would free the nation from its dependence on foreign goods and usher in a new era of industrial growth.

“This is the day American industry was reborn, the day America’s destiny was reclaimed, and the day we began to make America wealthy again,” Trump declared during his remarks, emphasizing his “America First” agenda.

The tariffs, which apply to imported passenger vehicles, light trucks, and key automobile parts like engines and transmissions, build on earlier levies targeting steel, aluminum, and specific goods from China, Canada, and Mexico.
