A federal judge in Louisiana has indicated that a 2-year-old U.S. citizen was deported to Honduras alongside her mother without the due process typically afforded in such cases.
Reports indicate that the mother of the girl is an illegal immigrant who is married to a US citizen.

The child was apparently send away with her mother, despite her father’s desperate attempts to keep her safe in the United States.
Judge Terry Doughty questioned the government’s claim that the mother chose to take the child. Homeland Security said parents often opt to be removed with their children.
The judge stated, “the Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her. But the Court doesn’t know that.”
