President Ibrahim Traore reportedly grant gold mine permit to Russian  company

Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traore has made another bold move in the country’s mining sector.

Captain Ibrahim Traore is reported to have given a gold mine permit to a Russian company by the name Nordgold.

The past few weeks have been a huge one for the West African giants as their leader refuse to bow to France and the United States.

France is known to be a long time partner of Burkina Faso just like many francophone countries.

In fact at some point, it was much like France was the key decision maker of every single move made by the country until the recent military takeover.

One if the major sector the current administration have been protecting heavily is the mining sector.

The western world, notably France and America is said to have led gold mines in Burkina Faso with the country gaining just a little portion as income generated.

Recently, Ibrahim Traore made it clear that the country will oversee it’s gold mines and wouldn’t let France interfere.

“We would mine our gold, not for France or for anyone but for our own” the President stated.

According to a new X post by African Hub, The President has concluded negotiations with a Russian company called Norgold to partner with them for mining activities in the country
