Trump has informed his inner circle, including several Cabinet members, that tech billionaire Elon Musk may soon step back from his influential role to focus on his business ventures.

Musk, who has been leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—an advisory body created through one of Trump’s executive orders to slash federal spending and jobs—has been a polarizing figure in the administration.
While Trump has reportedly expressed satisfaction with Musk’s efforts to streamline government operations, other administration officials have increasingly viewed him as a political liability.
