Days after insinuating that he is above the law, Donald Trump called himself a “king” following his administration’s efforts to overturn a new toll on Manhattan drivers to fund the city’s dilapidated mass transit system.

On their X account, the White House posted his statement with an altered cover of Time magazine showing a crowned president alongside the phrase “long live the king.”

“CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday, Feb. 19. “Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!”

Taylor Budowich, the White House’s second chief of staff, went on to post an image of a regally adorned president created with AI.
