The Vatican has disclosed in a statement that cleric, Pope Francis had fallen and hurt his right arm but no bones of his were broken or fractured.
According to the Holy See press office, the 88-year-old religious leader suffered a contusion to his right forearm after falling at his home in Casa Santa Marta on Thursday morning.

The statement added that Pope Francis’ arm had been immobilized as a safety precaution.
Per the Vatican-released photos, the pope was still performing his official duties despite wearing a cloth sling.

Francis had a packed schedule despite the fall including five meetings on Thursday with priests from an Argentine college in Rome and Alvaro Lario President of the International Fund of Agricultural Development.
The incident happened after the pope appeared cheerful during his Wednesday general audience even throwing a tennis ball at a dog during a circus act.
Nonetheless, this is the pope’s second fall in as many weeks.
He fell during the night and struck his bedside table resulting in a large bruise on his chin in early December.
In recent years Pope Francis has experienced a number of health issues.

He has been in a wheelchair since 2022 because of mobility problems and knee pain.
