Police officer video with woman is trending

A police officer from Shefford, Bedfordshire, has been sentenced to four months in prison for stealing a woman’s underwear during a Section 32 search at a home in Stevenage on September 12, 2024.

The incident was captured on a Ring camera. It showed officer Marcin Zielinski searching through the woman’s drawer and pocketing a pair of underwear before leaving the room.

When questioned, he pleaded guilty to one count of theft and one count of corrupt or improper exercise of police powers

Zielinski resigned from the police force in November 2024 while under investigation. On August 4, 2025, he was charged at Cambridge Crown Court.

The victim, Lea-Ann Sullivan is a mother of two. According to her, the situation left her in profound emotional distress, as she felt “vulnerable and scared” and no longer trusted the police.

Sullivan was forced to identify her underwear in a police lineup which added to her trauma. She has since disposed of all her underwear and the drawer due to the incident.

She stated that the four month sentence is too forgiving as her trust was betrayed and she feels vulnerable to other individuals.
