“People are going to die” – USAID employee breaks silence on Trump’s dismantling of the agency

An employee at USAID has thrown some light on the effects of Trump’s administration’s upending of the agency.

She laments that there will be massive loss of life should Trump takedown USAID as a lot of households and individuals in different parts of the world depend on the agency to live.

In a video, she said;

“It is unquestionable that people are dying because our work has stopped even in the past 12 days and it will continue to happen.

There are people that will go without food.

There are people that will go without disaster, without recovery assistance.

There are farmers who won’t get fertilizers for their fields.

There are people who will not have lights for their buildings. There are people who won’t get vaccinations for basic needs.

There are people who won’t get HIV care in the places we do pepfar and thinking in my heart about the world who with so little relative little investment have so many positive outcomes with 1% of the American federal budget.”
