Mount Etna erupts, unleashes massive flow and ash and lava

The largest and most active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna has recently erupted releasing a dense cloud of ash and flow of lava all over.

Mount Etna is located on the eastern coast of Sicily, Italy, in the province of Catania. It is the largest and most active stratovolcanos in Europe. The mountain is known for its frequent and persistent eruptions. Activities ranges from lava flows and as emissions.

According spatial experts, the eruption began on February 6, with activities noted around the southeast part of the mountain. On February 12, strong explosive activity at the summit craters sent plumes of ash and lava into the air, forcing authorities to raise the an alert.

On February 13, BBC also reported that the emission of lava and ash from the mountain had increased over the previous days. The report also stated that the volcano had started spewing smoke and lava on it cap.

Regardless of the eruption and ash, hikers are still hiking in the area. Video footage shows hikers moving round the edge of the lava although it has recently erupted.
