The shocking moment occurred when a dead man’s eyes seemingly opened while he lay in a coffin in front of stunned mourners at his funeral.
The deceased man’s loved ones had gathered for the service in the Dominican Republic and they quickly noticed that his eyelids appeared to flicker.

Images captured the man draped in white, inside a coffin with a glass window above his face.
In one photograph, his eyes seem closed as he rests peacefully, however, in the next moment, they appear to have opened just as a mourner snapped a photo.

The eerie incident left the funeral guests startled, with one family member saying: “Who knows if he’s fighting for his life?”
Some concerned relatives suggested calling an ambulance to transport him to a hospital, in case he was miraculously still alive.

Although other locals proposed that the alleged eye movement of the corpse could be attributed to mobile phone flashlights or muscle memory.
One said: “Post-mortem muscle memory, it presents itself in some corpses.”
