Friday saw the hushed termination of the lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl by her attorney.

Tony Buzbee, the attorney for Jane Doe, proceeded to file a “voluntary notice for dismissal” in the Manhattan federal courthouse, culminating a suit about the alleged assault dating back more than 20 years.
The filing does not explicate it but does not necessarily mean it has reached settlement. Diddy’s lawyers would have it otherwise, however.

“Today’s complete dismissal without a settlement by the 1-800 attorney is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts,” the team said.
“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by an attorney more focused on media headlines than legal merit. Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them.”

Still, Jay-Z and his legal counsel celebrated the ending of the case, which had been filed in December, as a win-ripping Buzbee, who was labeled as a “1-800 lawyer.”
“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed,” Hova wrote in a statement. “The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims.”
“The trauma that my wife, my children, my loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed.”
The “Hard Knock Life” rapper added, “The 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions.
