Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his nomination of U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize during a White House dinner on June 25, 2025, attended by both leaders and their senior aides.
The nomination, presented as a recognition of Trump’s diplomatic achievements, particularly in the Middle East, elicited a heartfelt response from the U.S. president.

During the dinner, Netanyahu formally announced the nomination, emphasizing Trump’s contributions to peace efforts.
“I want to express appreciation and admiration, not only of Isrealis but of Jewish people and many admirers around the world of your leadership,” Netanyahu told Trump.
“I want to present to you Mr President the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. It’s nominating you for the peace prize which is well deserved and should get,” he concluded while handing over the nomination to the President.
In response, Trump shared his gratitude saying, “Thank you very much, coming from you in particular this very meaningful. Thank you very much Bibi.”
This is the second nomination Trump has received for the Nobel Peace Prize Award this year. He was previously nominated by the Pakistan government for his role in the Pakistan and India wars.

The nomination highlights Trump’s role in brokering the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab states, as well as other diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering peace in the Middle East.
The Nobel Committee has yet to comment on the nomination, which will be reviewed as part of the 2026 award cycle.
