The strike came shortly despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

This action followed reports of Iranian missile launches targeting Israel, which Iran denied, claiming the ceasefire was violated by Israel.

The Israeli strike was described as a response to these alleged violations, specifically citing two Iranian ballistic missiles fired after the ceasefire’s start.

Trump expressed frustration with both nations, urging Israel to halt further attacks and warning against escalating the conflict.

The ceasefire, brokered with Qatari mediation, aimed to end a 12-day conflict sparked by Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities starting June 13, 2025.

Despite the tensions, both sides appeared to restrain further escalation following Trump’s intervention, with Israel refraining from additional strikes after the radar site attack.
