Gospel singer, Timileyin Ajayi, recently arrested for the m#rder of a young woman named Salome Adaidu in Nasarawa State, has entered a plea of not guilty to the single charge of culpable homicide brought against him.

On Monday morning, January 27, Ajayi faced arraignment before Justice Simon Aboki at the High Court of Justice in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.
He is accused of one count of culpable homicide, which is punishable by de@th, in accordance with Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.

The 32-year-old was detained on January 12, following the m#rder of Adaidu, a 24-year-old who was participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
She had been serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja prior to her untimely de@th.
Salome met her end during a visit to the suspect’s residence located in the Papalana area of New Karshi, within the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

During a press conference, Ajayi admitted to killing Salome, asserting that she was his girlfriend.
However, he expressed no remorse, claiming that he had no regrets because she had allegedly betrayed him.
