A teenage girl near Chegutu Zimbabwe was hit by a train and is lucky to be alive.
The girl whose identity has not been revealed was strolling beside the railroad tracks when the mishap happened.
It was reported that she had on earbuds at the time.

The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) confirmed the incident, stating, “A teenage girl was injured after being struck by a train near Chegutu. The girl was walking along the railway line when the accident occurred.”

‘’The girl was taken to Chegutu District Hospital for treatment. The NRZ wished her a speedy recovery and issued a safety warning, urging the public to avoid wearing earphones while near railway tracks. “We urge members of the public to always be on high alert and refrain from wearing earphones when near the tracks,” the NRZ stated.

This incident comes after the 2023 Gweru train accident that killed Agatha Tadokera a woman who was wearing earphones and was walking close to the tracks.

In order to safeguard public safety the NRZ has urged greater awareness and emphasized the need to prevent such incidents.
