Fear of deportation empties Church of Pentecost in Columbus Ohio, following Trump’s order

Last Sunday the building of the Church of Pentecost branch in North Columbus, Ohio, was empty since so many members chose not to come to church over fears of being rounded up and deported.

If you are without papers, it is not the best time to be in the United States, as the new regime is cracking down fast and furiously on illegal immigration in the United States.

So the majority of undocumented people in the States have decided to hide from the arm of the immigration agency, ICE, whose sole duty is to catch and deport those immigrants.

Members of the Church of Pentecost, who happen to be mostly Africans, were not any different and stood away from church service, even in the light of free food on Sunday.

Head District Pastor Samuel Koomson sadly noted that the church, which used to draw many members of the community, including non-members, due to free lunch provided by the church, now stands almost empty.

He explained that over 70 per cent of the congregation is now frightened to attend church for fear that ICE will come and arrest and deport them back home.

Now no one is coming out [for the food], said Pastor Samuel Koomson, so food is now spoiling.
