In Chile, a father captured the moment his son was briefly swallowed by a humpback whale and spat out while kayaking.
Dell Simancas and his son Adrian Simancas were on a kayaking trip in Patagonia, Chile, where he was suddenly swallowed by a whale for some seconds and then spat out.
In an interview with CNN, Dell and Adrian explained the whole incident to the world.
“When I turned the camera on, I heard strong waves crashing behind me. It seemed strange that a wave could crash that way. And when I turned around, I did not see Adrian. I did not see Adrian or his raft. In that moment I felt worried,” Dell told CNN.
Describing his experience, Adrian told reporters that, “I felt something hit me from the back that lifted me up a bit. I thought it was a wave, but it was too strong. When I turned around I felt a slimy texture on my face.”
“I could see colours like dark blue and white approaching from behind, closing around me and pulling me under. In that moment I thought there’s nothing I can do and I’m about to die,” he continued.

Dell described the moment his son was spat out by the whale. According to him he was initially worried and began to calm down after seeing his son and talking to him.
“About 3 seconds later I see him shoot to the surface, and the pack raft appeared after him. Then I see the fin or some part of the animal that made me guess it was a whale. Then I began to calm down because I saw Adrian, and he was conscious, he was talking to me,” Dell told CNN reporters.
