Elon Musk officially leaves the Trump administration to focus on his businesses

Elon Musk has announced his departure from the Trump administration on after his 130-day tenure comes to an end.

Elon Musk worked as a special government employee leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Donald Trump administration but that has come to an end now.

In an X post, Elon Musk sent his appreciation message to President Trump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending, claiming DOGE’s mission would continue to strengthen.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s exit followed his public criticism of the President’s bill, a spending package he said undermined DOGE’s efforts by increasing the federal deficit.

Elon Musk recently clashed with administration officials, including trade adviser Peter Navarro, whom he called a “moron” over tariff disagreements, and faced backlash for aggressive cost-cutting, including layoffs and agency downsizing.

It is a public knowledge that Elon Musk will now shift his attention back to his businesses, Tesla and SpaceX, amid declining Tesla sales and public approval.

“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.” He wrote
