Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he would think about the possibility of Elon Musk the CEO of Tesla acquiring TikTok.
At a press briefing on Tuesday, President Trump suggested that he’s open to the idea of Tesla CEO Elon Musk or Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison buying TikTok.

“I would be, if he wanted to buy it,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday when asked if he was open to Musk buying the platform.
“I have met with owners of TikTok, the big owners,” Trump added. “So, what I am thinking about saying to somebody is ‘buy it and give half to the United States of America.'”
Trump said on Tuesday that TikTok would be “worthless” without a permit to operate in the U.S., but could be worth $1 trillion with one.
“What I’m thinking about saying to somebody is, buy it and give half to the United States of America,” Trump said. “And we’ll give you the permit.’”
According to one prominent analyst covering Musk if a deal to purchase the American operations of TikTok materializes the richest person in the world Elon Musk would probably be looking at a price tag comparable to what he paid for Twitter.
