Los Angeles is currently witnessing a major unrest following immigration raids conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
There have long ago been issues surrounding ICE raids under President Donald Trump’s administration and things are getting out of hand at the moment.
Currently, there’s a protest , sparked by ICE operations targeting workplaces like garment factories and a Home Depot in the city’s Fashion District and Paramount areas.
The protest has already resulted in at least 118 arrests, including some citizens described as legal residents.
Demonstrators, many waving Mexican flags and chanting “ICE out of LA,” clashed with law enforcement, blocking major roads and setting cars on fire as well as looting a gas station.
It was reported that on June 7, President Donald Trump has federalized 2,000 California National Guard troops under Title 10 authority.
The president himself has already responded to the ongoing violence surrounding LA and made it clear he wouldn’t tolerate it.
The president has Trump ordered deployment of 2,000 National Guard personnel with Armoured vehicles for major crackdown on those involved in the LA riot.
