Burkina Faso launched the Presidential Health Initiative (IPS), a significant program aimed at enhancing the nation’s healthcare infrastructure.
This initiative involves constructing 55 community medical centers and five intensive care units across the country.

The project’s goal is to improve access to quality healthcare, particularly in rural areas, and to modernize medical services nationwide.
Shortly termed as the IPS, it was officially inaugurated in Bérégadougou, a town in the Cascades region of the country.
The plan includes not only the construction of new facilities but also the introduction of specialized services such as dialysis units, a heart institute, and breast cancer diagnostic tools.
Additionally, the initiative aims to equip these centers with advanced medical equipment and reinforce medical staff to ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery.
