A Brazilian youth died as he allegedly injected the remains of a butterfly, in connection with an online dare.

Authorities are investigating, while experts have raised warnings about the dangers of social media trends promoting extreme and harmful experiments.
A tragic end to a bizarre online challenge claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy named Davi Nunes Moreira.

Some report that he injected himself with dead butterfly remains mixed with water, leading to health complications.
Davi initially told his father that he had hurt himself while playing.

As he lay in a weakened condition, he informed the authorities that he had mixed a dead butterfly with water and shoved that mixture into his body.
He died Wednesday in the hospital in northeast Brazil.

The cause of death for Davi may have taken a while to get an answer, due to suspicions raised by the authorities concerning toxins in butterfly remains that might have caused septic shock.
An investigation is being officially carried out by the police, and it has not yet declared if the online challenge had been a direct influence on Davi.

He had supposedly initially denied any link to the trend before his demise.
