Mobile money fraud has been going on for decades. In Ghana, MTN mobile money subscribers are the mostly attacked and victimized by the action of these internet fraudsters.
In a video she posted online, a lady has lamented about an alleged withdrawal from her MTN mobile money account which she had no idea of.

She only got to know of the transaction after receiving a confirmatory message that over 11,000 Cedis had been withdrawn from her mobile money account.
According to the lady, she had no hand in the transaction. She did not initiate, allowed cash-out, nor approve the transaction. “Nobody has called me for about any transaction ID, nobody has called me for my momo pin,” she lamented.

She stated that she reached out to the office of MTN via phone but the customer service representative who picked up was very rude towards her.
Ultimately, the office gave her a 15-working-days period to wait as they try to investigate and rectify the situation. However, she claims she does not have that much time as the money is not hers.
