18 year old Nicholas Kini who was arrested in 2021 in Kasoa for murdering 10year old boy, Ishmael Mensah with his friend has finally been sentenced.
On Thursday, October 24, the court ultimately found these two teenage boys, including Nicholas, guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
During court proceedings, the two were charged with the killing of Ishmael to use his body parts for money rituals in Lamptey Mills, a town in Kasoa.
Nicholas’ partner in crime, who is still a minor was also convicted on two charges of conspiracy to commit murder and a substantive charge of murder but the court referred his sentencing to the juvenile court.

The prosecution which was led by Senior State Attorney, Nana Adoma Osei, called seven witnesses, which included the parents and younger sister of the minor to prove its case.
The judge gave the jury a thorough rundown of the case, along with instructions on the relevant statute and the requirements the prosecution had to meet.
After deliberating for approximately five minutes, the jury returned with a unanimous guilty verdict on both counts against the defendants.

Following the conviction of the two, Justice Marfo sentenced Nicholas Kini to life in prison and remanded the youngster to juvenile court for sentencing in line with Section 342 of Act 30.
