The Minister of Interior, Honorable Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka has given an update on the ongoing battle against galamsey.

Illegal mining continues to be a major treat to Ghana’s development for years now with government doing everything possible to change the situation.
Illegal miners have been able to find a way out and continues to pollute water bodies across the country.
It is no longer a secret that the illegal mining activities are being fueled and led by some foreign nationals.

According to the Minister of Interior, at least 107 foreigners have been deported do far since he assumed office.
This foreigners according to him are part of the foreigners involved in the illegal mining activities in the country.
