Popstar, Chappell Roan has called for labels to give new artists a liveable wage and healthcare during her acceptance speech.

There have always been debates over the percentage of shares artists take when signed into a record label.
As much as it is the record label that provides all the necessary investments, many believes they deserve to earn more than what they are given.

During the 67th Grammy awards, Chappell Roan made her thoughts known to all record labels.
According to her, there’s the need for them to give newly signed artists liveable payments and provide healthcare for them as well.

“I told myself if I ever won a Grammy and I got to stand up here in-front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off artists would offer a liveable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists… labels we got you, but do you got us?” she said.
