White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Tuesday, January 288, that the Trump administration froze a $50 million federal payment for “c0ndoms in Gaza.”
The Office of Management and Budget, along with the newly-formed Department of Government Efficiency, found that there was about to be $50 million in taxpayer dollars that would go out the door to fund condoms in Gaza, Leavitt told reporters.

“That is a preposterous waste of taxpayer money. That’s what this pause is focused on: being good stewards of tax dollars.”
U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered a large freeze on foreign aid and domestic grant programs.

During the first press briefing at the White House for the new administration, Leavitt stated that Trump plans to stick with his choice to take away the security details of former officials who are under threat from Iran.

This comes after Sen. Tom Cotton requested the president to “revisit” that choice on Monday.
However, many are concerned about the safety of these officials, because removing security could put them at risk.

Although the president has made his decision clear, some believe it should be reconsidered.
“He does not believe American taxpayers should fund security details for individuals who have served in the government for the rest of their lives,” Leavitt said.
“There’s nothing stopping these individuals that you mentioned from obtaining private security.”
