Trump says Immigration Authorities can raid churches and schools and arrest people hiding there

The long-standing rule to avoid so-called sensitive areas will be broken when immigration officials are allowed to make arrests and conduct enforcement actions in and around locations like churches and schools.

In a statement, acting Homeland Security Secretary, Benjamine Huffman announced the termination of two directives that end a legal pathway for migrants seeking entry into the United States and give agents more discretion over whether they enforce the law.

Since the Trump administration abandoned a policy that safeguarded sensitive locations immigration officials have the authority to raid places like churches and schools in order to detain undocumented immigrants.

According to reports, Federal immigration agents can now make arrests near places like churches and schools, ending the policy of avoiding sensitive areas, per Acting Homeland Security Secretary Benjamin Huffman.

“Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest. The Trump Administration will not tie the hands of our brave law enforcement, and instead trusts them to use common sense,” the statement reads.
