Indian man cancels engagement, bride’s family retaliates by shaving off his brother’s moustache

In a strange and startling incident from Rajasthan India, a bride’s family shaved off the groom’s brother’s moustache in unusual retaliation after the groom abruptly called off their engagement.

The violent altercation which is currently trending on social media took place in the Karauli district of Rajasthan and attracted the attention of shocked bystanders.

According to the News18 report, the family abruptly called off the engagement after the groom’s sister vocalized her disapproval of the bride.

Furious, the bride’s family confronted the groom and his family.

The altercation quickly turned ugly and the bride’s family shaved off the groom’s moustache and physically restrained his brother.

The incident took place in front of onlookers and some people were filming it.

The viral video shows the groom’s brother enduring the humiliating act while a crowd of onlookers converse about the broken engagement.

Online reactions and harsh criticism have been generated by the video with many people denouncing the bride’s family’s behaviour.

Following its viral success, the groom released a video in which he offered his perspective.

He clarified that they discovered significant differences between the bride’s family shared photos and the real bride which led them to decide to call off the engagement.

Therefore the groom’s family had requested some time to consider the situation.

According to the groom, they simply needed some time and had not formally canceled the wedding.

The man sobbed in the video saying that he and his family were subjected to needless stress and humiliation in public.

The groom’s relatives who feel wronged say they would go to the police and tell them that they are being pressured into paying a settlement.

Since neither party has formally filed a complaint the police are reportedly closely monitoring the situation without taking any action.
