Not in preparation for a film role Denzel Washington recently became a minister and was baptized. Dec. 7 Saturday.
The 69-year-old Gladiator II star was baptized on 21 at the Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ which is situated in New York Citys Harlem district.
Additionally, he received a minister license which will enable him to receive future ordination.

Days before his historic 70th birthday Denzel casually dressed in a grey T-shirt and black sweatpants spoke to the congregation about embracing his faith during the ceremony which was live-streamed on Facebook by the First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ Eastern New York.
Denzel Washington recently celebrated a significant moment in his spiritual journey. The 69-year-old actor, known for his role in Gladiator II, was baptized on Saturday, December 21, at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ in Harlem, New York.
In his words; “In one week I turn 70, It took a while, but l’m here”

“If [God] can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. The sky literally is the limit,” he added.
Also present for the momentous occasion was Denzel’s wife Pauletta Washington who spoke movingly about her husband’s spiritual development and expressed her pride at seeing him take this next step in his faith.
“Forty-six years later, here I’m still standing next to him as only God will have it,” Pauletta said. “So I’m very proud of you. You are the head of our house and you have set a great example for our children, who are now adult children who know the difference because we have shown them the difference.”
