US President-elect, Donald Trump has reacted to the reported pardon by President Joe Biden on his son Hunter on the Capitol riot.
Hunter was scheduled to attend a court hearing where final sentence will be carried out on separate federal gun and tax evasion cases at the latter part of this month.
Hunter pleaded guilty in September to 9 counts linked to the $1.4million tax evasion from the government and was convicted of 3 federal gun charges in June for having a firearm in his possession and his addition to hard drugs.
However, Joe Biden believes his son was ‘selectively’ and unfairly’ prosecuted. He issues a pardon that crimes perpetrated from January 1, to December 1, 2024.
At a G7 summit in June, Joe Biden told media reporters that he will not make any move to assist his son but agree with the decision or choice of the jury.
“I said I’d abide by the jury decision. I will do that and I will not pardon him.”
Reacting to this development, Donald Trump who is waiting patiently for his swearing in took to social media to describe Hunter’s action as an abuse and miscarriage of justice.
“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!” Trump posted on Truth Social
