A 50-year-old widow and fashion designer has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over attempt to traffic using fake pregnancy as a façade to escape scrutiny and detection.
On Friday, August 22, 2025, operatives of the NDLEA arrested Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike at a bus terminal in Jibowu, Yaba, Lagos.

Ezewuike was apprehended for attempting to traffic 1.3 kilograms of cocaine from Lagos to her customers in Abuja.
In a move to conceal the drugs and avoid detection, Ezewuike disguised herself as a pregnant woman, hiding the drugs in the cloth.

After her arrest, NDLEA operatives conducted a follow-up search at her residence in Ago Palace Way where they found 200 grams of a cutting agent used in producing a strain of cocaine.
Upon interrogating her, Ezewuike revealed that she inherited the illicit drug trade from her late husband, who passed away two years ago.

She stated that she to has been involved in the fashion industry for 20 years. She ran her business parallel to the criminal activities she took over after her husband’s death.
Ezewuike is expected to face charges related to drug trafficking, with investigations ongoing to uncover the full extent of her operations and potential accomplices.

Ezewuike is a mother of one and the proprietress of Golden Star Creation, a fashion establishment based in Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.
