Authorities in Lahore have arrested three individuals following a shocking incident on July 3, 2025, where a pet lion escaped from a farmhouse in the Johar Town neighborhood and attacked a woman and her two children, aged 5 and 7.
The dramatic event, captured on CCTV footage, shows the 11-month-old male lion leaping over a wall, pouncing on a woman from behind, and knocking her to the ground before attacking the children, injuring their faces and arms.

All three victims were hospitalized but are reported to be in stable condition.
According to a police report, the children’s father alleged that the lion’s owners, who emerged from the farmhouse during the attack, appeared “amused” and made no effort to restrain the animal.
The owners fled the scene with the lion but were apprehended within 12 hours. The lion was seized and relocated to a wildlife park, where officials report it is in good health.
Lahore Deputy Chief Wildlife Officer Adnan Wirk stated that the owners lacked the required permit and failed to meet safety regulations, violating the Wildlife Act.
