Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu made an appearance at the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court in Dar es Salaam earlier today.
His appearance in court is in connection with his ongoing trial over treason and false publication allegations.

Tundu Lisdu is mandated by court to have an in-person appearance after he protested virtual hearings with a hunger strike.
The opposition leader is facing treason charges from a controversial arrest back in April 9, 2025.
Our investigations revealed his arrest came after he called for electoral reforms ahead of the October 2025 general election.

Lissu, who happens to be the chairman of the Chadema party, entered the court defiantly, with supporters chanting “No reforms, no election”
