On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the people of Bobo-Dioulasso, known affectionately as the city of Sya, gave a rousing welcome to the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

From the very edge of the city to the heart of town, thousands lined the streets, dancing, waving flags, and cheering as the presidential motorcade made its way through the jubilant crowd.

The energy was undeniable. All along the Ouagadougou-Bobo highway, spontaneous gatherings slowed the convoy as people in towns like Boni, Houndé, and Koumbia rushed to greet the Head of State.

It was more than a welcome — it was a celebration of leadership and a show of unity from citizens who see hope in the captain’s vision.

Over the next two days, he will lead activities aimed at modernizing and scaling up agricultural production in the region.

From handing over agro-pastoral and fisheries equipment, to laying the foundation for a cashew apple processing plant and initiating the construction of a veterinary drug production unit, the President is showing that action speaks louder than promises.
